Some history and background on GivenchyHubert de Givenchy was born in Beauvais, France in 1927. At a very early age Givenchy had an interest in fashion. Givenchy visited the World Fair in Paris at the young age of 10. The Pavilion of Elegance had thirty of the most famous French couture houses on display. Givenchy returned home and made his mind up that he would become a fashion designer.
Hubert de Givenchy's dreams came true after he moved to Paris. On February 2nd, 1952 he opened his own Maison de Couture. Givenchy’s first collection was an immediate success.
